www.iaaf.org/news/kind=100/newsid=52446.htmlNow here's a woman that was 49 high at best and typically 50 point low in the open 400 .. She moves up a notch and she becomes an immediate threat at the new event .. I don't know why more athletes don't do this .. I keep watching quartermilers struggling to break 45, and I know they would be threats to run 1:43 in the half with some work .. Half milers struggling to get to 1:45 that could run 3:34 or better in the 1500 !! And on up the line .. Why do athletes accept being mediocre when they have the potential to be great ??

I think too many are afraid of pain. Or being out of there comfort zone.

I think athletes "get religion" over a particular event. Example: Why does Kerron Clement insist on running his "400 meter steeplechase" (because he certainly isn't "hurdling" very well in the 400mh)?
